Dont know if this was brought up any where but does anyone notice how old his daughter sounds on the phone in the early part of the movie? She sounds much older than she looks at the end. And this would go along with the chemist actor saying to use our ears more than our eyes.

It was a univerisity in France. His Father knew about the flight back to the US, with an inception being attempted and flew back to meet him at the airport. Perhaps he didn't know if he was going to meet him or instead see him arrested and taken away.
Either way, he would want to be there, since it was HIS research that started ALL of the trouble with his son & wife. Perhaps that's also why he was in a French university, which means it was Mal's parents that were taking care of the children.

& he was sayin he cnt get past that part in the dream & luk at his kids faces (wich he regrets)
& he cudent let mal go
& my duin that mission, he new if he sucseeded that chinse fella was gna make sure he cud go back home and complety walk frew imagration no questions asked!

even tho u see cobb and the chinse man at the end in limbo and the chinse fella is a old man dats bcus 1 minute in limbo is like a year, cus time goin that fast, so by da time cobb gets dwn 2 limbo he as become a old man, then they tlk about the totem (and he says are u ere 2 kill me) this makes them both rilise that it is not reality, as the totem reminded them and jst rememberd sorta fing
so i fink they managed 2 get outa limbo, hense y u seen them on the plane at da end :)
and by completing that mission, he was able to get home 2 his kids, cus obv he cud get frew imagration (wich he cuent b4)
and by gettin home 2 his kids he was able 2 get past that part in his dream & luk at der faces, so at the end he is dreaming, but its showing u he was able to get past that part in his dream & let go of mal, and sort of like forgive him self, if u get me :)
there's never a basic logic true cz the movie was based on fantasy (we cannot share dreams ) instead my opinion is that the hole movie was Cobb's dream and the movie explain it and his wife Mal was the only real person she was not his projection bcz he cannot expect her caracter so his dreaming and he won't woke up while his wife is trying to making him up by killing him in his dream to come back to real...
