Ron Perlman has confirmed in an interview that he won't be appearing in Peter Jackson's adaptation of The Hobbit, as had been rumored when director Guillermo Del Toro was at the helm of the project. Perlman has collaborated with the Hellboy director several times, but has apparently chosen to leave the project along with Del Toro, who had to drop out of the back-to-back films after a series of production delays.

"I'm not doing [it]," Perlman told ComingSoon.net, "I think maybe that's a scoop for you." Those of you jonesing for some Perlman don't have to worry, as he will be appearing with Nicolas Cage in Season of the Witch starting in January, and can currently be heard voicing the character Stabbington Brother in Disney's Tangled.
