Jonah Hill truly comes into his own as a dramatic actor in Moneyball. The star is sitting with Movie Fanatic for an exclusive video interview at the Ritz in Toronto as part of the Toronto Film Festival. In Moneyball, Hill plays an assistant to Brad Pitt’s Billy Beane, General Manager of the Oakland A’s. The true story plays out onscreen courtesy of stellar performances by Pitt, Hill and Chris Pratt under the direction of Bennett Miller.
Hill rose through the Hollywood ranks known as a go-to comic actor who could nail the part, regardless of what was required of him -- bringing the funny in films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad, Knocked Up and Get Him to the Greek. He began expanding his dramatic wings with a scene-stealing turn in Cyrus while adding voice work with smash hits How to Train Your Dragon and Megamind.
Through our exclusive Moneyball chat, Hill talks about his dramatic roles and how he treasures the opportunities that he’s been given. He likens his career to the players on the field in Moneyball -- looked over by many, appreciated by somebody and in turn, triumphant because of a crossroads of talent, faith and fortitude.
