Fresh off the news that Johnny Depp may play Dr. Seuss, Universal Pictures has released three new photos from their upcoming Dr. Seuss film, The Lorax. The animated film looks impressive so far and their imagining of the character Once-ler deserves kudos.
Entertainment Weekly got the scoop on the iconic Once-ler character and his images. In the film the voice of Once-ler is The Office and The Hangover star Ed Helms. Perfect choice, we’d say.
The film is put out by Illumination and Universal, and Illumination’s CEO explained why Once-ler is less monster and more movie audience friendly. "The minute you make the Once-ler a monster, you allow the audience to interpret that the problem is caused by somebody who is different from me, and it ceases to be a story that is about all of us,” Christopher Meledandri said. “Then it's a story about, 'Oh I see, the person who led us into the predicament is not a person. It's somebody very, very different.' And so it takes you off the hook."
