An Oscar favorite comes home on Blu-Ray and DVD this week with the Brad Pitt-starring Moneyball premiering. Also on the home video front is the arrival of Killer Elite starring Robert De Niro, the directing debut of Vera Farmiga in Higher Ground and Anna Faris wondering What’s Your Number?

Moneyball: Golden Globe nominees Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill star in the true life story of Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane and his unlikely compilation of Major League Baseball cast-offs that creates a winner. Pitt and Hill give the performances of their lives in Moneyball while director Bennett Miller manages to create a baseball movie that is about so much more than the sport.

Killer Elite: Robert De Niro, Jason Statham and Clive Owen star in the action flick Killer Elite. When Owen’s rogue agent kidnaps De Niro, his prodigy Statham must swing into action to rescue him. De Niro takes a smaller role in the film that is really an onscreen acting battle between Owen and Statham.

Higher Ground: Vera Farmiga makes her directorial debut and also stars in the story of a woman who finds God over the course of her life and the affect that has on those around her. Higher Ground is a powerful film, marked by stellar performances, including the always awesome Farmiga. The film was released in limited capacity in early 2011 and should find a wider audience on DVD and Blu-Ray.

What’s Your Number?: Chris Evans sheds his Captain America costume to play the next door neighbor to Anna Fairs. Faris’ character reads in a women’s magazine that women who have had more than 20 sexual partners are less likely to marry than those with less. Realizing she’s on the cusp of 20, she decides to track down all of her exes hoping her legion of Mr. Wrongs, in fact, contain a Mr. Right.
