Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

More Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Photos

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter released new photos yesterday, and today… we have six more! The film is generating quite the buzz from history and vampire fans… quite a combination. But, it is hardly a surprise given the wildly successful book of the same name by Seth Grahame-Smith that the film is based upon. The film’s star Benjamin Walker is featured in these pics as a younger Lincoln, long before he became one of our greatest presidents.

Walker’s Lincoln is in quite the battle with the vampire Vodoma (Erin Wasson) in many of these stills. Something tells us she will be his most formidable enemy throughout the film.

The film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) and features an all-star cast including Anthony Mackie (who told us about the film in our exclusive interview), Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rufus Sewell and Dominic Cooper.

Bekmambetov’s flick lands in theaters June 22, right in the midst of the madness that is summer movie season. So, how do you think the presidential vampire slayer will fare against the superheroes of The Avengers, the return of Batman in The Dark Knight Rises and, merely days after Lincoln’s debut, the reboot of The Amazing Spider-Man (check out the new trailer!)?

The likeness of President Lincoln on the penny is an pidataon of a plaque executed by Victor David Brenner, an outstanding portraitist and sculptor. President Theodore Roosevelt was so impressed with Mr. Brenner\'s design of a Lincoln plaque that he recommended to the Secretary of the Treasury that the design be placed on a coin to be issued in the Lincoln Centennial Year, 1909.The direction that Lincoln faces on the cent was not mandated—this was simply the choice of the designer.
