We’ve got the first look at Jeremy Renner as he takes over the Bourne franchise from Matt Damon. The first trailer for The Bourne Legacy has debuted and our first impressions are that Renner could not have been a more perfect choice to continue the series. Renner is a completely different agent than Damon's Bourne, thus the “Bourne Legacy” aspect of the title. Damon’s character still looms large.

The teaser shows us Renner as Kenneth Kitson, clearly not at the best moment of his life. Stars of the Bourne series are back, as we see in the trailer, including Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Scott Glenn and David Strathairn. But, we also get treated to the heavily featured new characters played by Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz.

Universal has also debuted the film’s first poster (below). Look for the film to hit theaters August 3.
