Lay The Favorite: Watch the UK Trailer
by Micah J Gordon at .In England, "favorite" has a "u" in it and pie has kidneys in it. So don't be alarmed by the odd title. This is an American film (Bruce Willis! America! Whooo!), it's just a UK trailer.
Lay the Favorite stars the aforementioned Willis (The Expendables 2), along with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Rebecca Hall, Vince Vaughn, and Joshua Jackson, and follows an ex-stripper (played by Hall) as she is introduced to the world of illegal sports gambling.
From the looks of the trailer, Lay the Favorite is a fun film that combines comedy, crime, and romance (much like another Willis film, The Whole Nine Yards). With seasoned comedian Vaughn on board, there are bound to be some big laughs. Vaughn can be seen this summer alongside Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill in The Watch (check out The Watch red band trailer).
Lay the Favorite is directed by Stephen Frears, director of 2000's High Fidelity (check out some High Fidelity quotes), and premiered at Sundance earlier this year. It has not yet received a release date.
