New Prometheus TV Spot Focuses on the Humanity

by at .

So far, the ads for Prometheus have been intensely ominous, creepy, and suspenseful. The new ad focuses largely on the interaction between the characters in the Prometheus cast, as opposed to their findings in outer space.

We get the sense that Ridley Scott's new extra-terrestrial sci-fi opus might feature a complicated web of deception and coercion. There may, as is uttered in the trailer, be an agenda someone's not telling us about.

But of course, without all the super-awesome alien stuff, Prometheus would just be an low-budget indie drama about a bunch of people just trying to get through the day (I'm picturing Jeff Daniels as "Prometheus," a well-meaning but socially awkward vending machine stocker...). Still, it's nice to see that a gigantic production that takes us on a vast journey through space can still have some genuine humanity to it. I guess that's why it topped our list of the Top 10 Movies of the Summer.

Prometheus opens June 8 and stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and Charlize Theron. Theron can also be seen in this summer's Snow White and the Huntsman.
