The first trailer for the upcoming 20th Century Fox animated feature Epic has debuted. There's a healthy dose of enchantment, and a bit of comedy. Check it out:

Epic stars Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell (Total Recall), Josh Hutcherson, Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables), Aziz Ansari, Jason Sudeikis, and more. It tells the story of a teenage girl who is magically transported to a mystical world of forest creatures. There, she must help a rag tag team of of characters save their world, and her own.

The film is based on the children's book The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs by William Joyce, and is directed by Chris Wedge. Wedge is best known for having directed the first Ice Age film, as well as for voicing the character of Scrat in all of the films, including the upcoming one, Continental Drift (Check out the Ice Age: Continental Drift trailer).

Epic is scheduled for release on May 24, 2013.
