Seeing as it was more or less the only film premiering this Comic-Con weekend, it's not surprise that Ice Age: Continental Drift finished the weekend in first place. That's not to diminish anything form the film's success. The fourth installment of the popular 3D computer animated franchise earned a cool $46 million in its first three days in theaters.
Starring Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, and Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man dropped to number two this weekend . The film's weekend earnings of $35 million bring its total gross to $200.9 million (still a long way to go to reach Avengers numbers, Spidey).
Ted dropped a spot from 2nd to 3rd this weekend, earning $22.1 million. Check out some Ted quotes to see why the Seth MacFarlane comedy has grossed $159 million over its first three weeks.
Brave takes the fourth spot, making this a double-animated top 5. The Pixar film earned $10.7 in ticket sales this weekend. In fifth place for the second week in a row is Magic Mike, with $9 million.
