Raiders of the Lost Ark has undergone an IMAX restoration in celebration of the Blu-Ray DVD release. The film will hit IMAX theaters for the first time ever, for one week only, beginning September 7. Check out the poster for the new event:

The classic action thriller directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by George Lucas was originally released in 1981 and has spawned three sequels. Harrison Ford plays the iconic archaeologist.

The news comes just a few days after it was announced that Ford is being sought for The Expendables 3.
