The Expendables 2 Wins Again: Weekend Box Office Results
by Micah J Gordon at .The box office take-in fell 34% this weekend, as The Expendables 2 maintained the top spot in the rankings. In fact, the top four films remained exactly the same. The action all-star sequel took in $13.5 million dollars, bringing its total gross to $52.3.
In second place once more is The Bourne Legacy, with $9.3 million. Paranorman and The Campaign took three and four again, with $8.5 and $7.4 million in earnings, respectively.
The Dark Knight Rises jumps back into the top 5, overtaking last weekend's Sparkle for the top spot. Batman, Selina Kyle, Bane, and The Dark Knight Rises had just barely dropped outside of the rankings last weekend, but as a testament to its staying power (and to the fact that not a single new film broke the top 5), the Superhero movie pulled in an additional $7.2 million this weekend.
