Lerman plays Charlie, a withdrawn freshman who befriends Sam and Patrick, played by Watson and Miller. Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman, Dylan McDermott (The Campaign), and Paul Rudd (Anchorman) also star.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is based on the popular young adult novel by Stephen Chbosky, who also wrote and directed the film. It will premiere September 8 at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Catch the movie in theaters September 21.
