Promised Land is like a modern-day There Will Be Blood. Just replace Daniel Day-Lewis with Matt Damon (The Departed), and oil with natural gas. Take a look at the first trailer for Promised Land:

Gus Van Sant helms the production, which is based on a story by Dave Eggers. It follows Damon as a salesman named Steve who seeks drilling rights in desolate farming towns.

John Krasinski, who co-wrote the film with Damon, plays a local named Dustin who fights Steve's influence. Frances McDormand, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Hal Holbrook (Lincoln) also star.
