In 007’s latest adventure, the Skyfall Bond girls are an enormous part of the story as the stars take 50 years of the classic Bond archetype and bring it new life. The two visited with Movie Fanatic for an exclusive video interview and talk about the brilliance of both Daniel Craig and his Skyfall villain Javier Bardem, as well as what it means to each of them to join the esteemed group of women who have scored the title “Bond girl." They're also quick, and rightfully so, to point out the importance of how that character has changed over the decades.
“For me, it is more than belonging to the Bond girl group, it’s being part of a James Bond movie that includes Bond girls, villains and James Bond... that is so mythical and magical,” Marlohe said. “They have a quality that makes you dream.”
It is a career moment, according to Harris, but it also speaks to women’s expanding role in the world. “It’s an incredible honor to be part of that roll call of amazing women. I’m really excited for how the role has evolved and how we now have women who are much more equal to Bond,” she said. “That’s really important.”
