by Micah J Gordon at .David O. Russell's latest film Silver Linings Playbook earned seven Oscar Nominations, including best film and two for Russell himself: Best Screenplay and Best Director. But with the Academy Awards Ceremony looming, Russell isn't dwelling on the past, instead he's looking forward to his next project.
Russell has already tapped Christian Bale (The Dark Knight Rises), Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, and Amy Adams (Man of Steel) for the cast of the unnamed film, and now comedian-turned-writer-turned-actor-turned-director Louis C.K. is in talks to join on!
C.K. isn't brand new to the big screen game, having written and directed 2001's Pootie Tang, and appearing in bit roles in such films as The Invention of Lying. He will also appear in Woody Allen's newest movie, Blue Jasmine.
Russell's new film is based on a real-life sting operation to uncover Congressional corruption. C.K. would play a key role, though details have not been released. Filming will begin next month.
