Two new stills from the upcoming fantasy adventure The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones have dropped! Take a look:

The movie is based on the first book in the young adult novel series by Cassandra Clare. It stars Lily Collins as Fray, a girl who solicits the help of a group of half-human/half-angels called Shadowhunters to find her kidnapped mother.

Lena Headey, Aidan Turner, Jamie Campbell Bower (The Twilight Saga), Jonathan Rhy Meyers, Jemima West, and Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution) also star.

Harald Zwart directs the film, which premieres August 23. Watch the first The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones trailer for a preview.
