The World’s End: Behind The Cornetto Trilogy

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Although many have called it the Blood and Ice Cream trilogy, in a pair of new behind-the-scenes featurettes for The World’s End, filmmaker Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost refer to their three-film canon as the Cornetto Trilogy. The first of the video featurettes explores the different flavors of the trilogy, from Shaun of the Dead through Hot Fuzz and now The World’s End.

As seen in The World’s End trailer, the film clearly has the feel of the first two, and like the first one, deals with Pegg and Frost as they realize the town they are in is inhabited by those who wish it ill. In Shaun of the Dead, of course, it was zombies. This time out… robots!

The World’s End lands in theaters August 23 and features Frost and Pegg as part of a group of friends who are determined to finish a pub crawl in their native town… regardless of the cost. Those nasty robots may have something to say about that.
