We met Austenland stars Jane Seymour and Georgia King for an exclusive video interview and discovered something about the stage and screen legend that was surprising. Seymour is so passionate about all things Austen that she even owned the property next to the iconic author’s Bath home for decades! And there’s more…
“I loved the books so much so that I now own first editions of all of Jane Austen’s books which I keep as my treasured possession by my bed,” Seymour said and smiled widely. “I went so far that when I had the money to go and buy the 1,000-year-old house right next to Jane Austen’s Bath home. I kind of was living my own Austenland experience.”
The woman who was Dr. Quinn on TV and one of the first Bond girls (in Live and Let Die) sounds like she could not have been more perfectly cast as the person who runs the fantasy camp in rural England that celebrates all things Austen, as teased in the Austenland trailer.
Georgia King admitted that she too adored the author that she first read in school and relished the chance to play a character who herself was pretending to be someone from Austen’s time period. “That was the ultimate actor’s dream,” King said.
Austenland stars Keri Russell and debuts in theaters August 16.
