The Butler arrives on screens August 16 and The Weinstein Company has released one last trailer, entitled Faith, that impeccably captures the spirit of this film. Movie Fanatic has seen the film and let’s just say it lives up to the hype. If stars Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey are not nominated for Oscars… it will be a crime.
As has been teased since the first The Butler trailer, this is a story based on the life of the man who served as the White House butler for seven U.S. Presidents during a time of great societal change in race relations in our country. Whitaker portrays the titular character and Winfrey is his wife.
The turmoil is not only out in the streets while Whitaker serves presidents dealing with race issues, but in the home of The Butler. He has one son who is a Freedom Fighter, who heads down to the South to try to push for change… and has another son who heads to Vietnam to fight for his country.
The Butler is an explosive drama with a lot of heart. Stay tuned for our review, debuting August 16.
