Fresh off of that Grudge Match still released yesterday of Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone as retired boxers getting back in the ring for one last fight, Warner Bros. has released its first trailer.
The film stars De Niro (currently seen in The Family) and Stallone as back-in-the-day boxing rivals who split victories on the two fights they completed. There was supposed to be a third fight, but it never happened.
Fast forward three decades and a boxing promoter has a novel idea to get these two former rivals back in the ring to decide once and for all who is the greatest among the two brawlers.
Why the sudden interest?
See, when the two Pittsburgh fighters meet and it doesn’t go so well and punches are thrown. It’s recorded on video and goes viral. Now you see how that promoter is seeing dollar signs and our two boxers see a chance to settle a score, once and for all?
The film lands Christmas Day and features Kevin Hart, Alan Arkin and Kim Basinger.
