Instead of going special effects-heavy for the sequel to Thor, filmmaker Alan Taylor decided on creating more of a real-world look for his scenes on Asgard, and that is chronicled in a new behind-the-scenes featurette released today by Marvel, called Beyond Realms.
“The whole scope of it was far larger than anything we’d seen before,” star Chris Hemsworth said in the spot above.
Shooting locations ranged from Iceland to London and allowed not only the filmmakers, but the actors to bring more of an organic feel to their performances.
Fans of the series have been teased quite a bit lately with a Thor: The Dark World TV spot airing during Agents of SHIELD and a slew of character poster releases, such as the Thor and Loki one. But, one of the best we’ve seen to date has to be the Thor: The Dark World This Ends Now trailer. November 8 cannot come soon enough.
