SAG Awards: American Hustle, Dallas Buyers Club Win Big

The SAG Awards have been handed out and the acting union has completed rewarding their own which has honestly made the Oscar picture even more blurry. Seriously, it’s anyone’s race. American Hustle scored with their victory for Best Cast in a Motion Picture that includes Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner.

American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave appear to have the momentum after the Critics Choice Movie Awards gave top honors earlier this weekend to American Hustle for comedy and 12 Years a Slave for drama.

In terms of the acting winners, a front-runner in each category is starting to emerge as the SAG Award winners are truly a closer look as to who will win Oscar gold. Actors are by far the largest voting block in the Academy.

Matthew McConaughey won for Best Actor and Jared Leto won for Best Supporting Actor for their work on Dallas Buyers Club. For her work on 12 Years a Slave, Lupita Nyong'o won Best Supporting Actress while Cate Blanchett scored a victory for her work on Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine.
