One of the most iconic things about that legendary monster known as Godzilla is his roar.
In a new featurette from the movie, landing in theaters May 16, director Gareth Edwards helps explore how he and his team settled on the sound that their monster will make as it terrifies audiences anew.
We love on this clip how even one of the stars of the film gives us his best impression of that famous roar, Bryan Cranston. And given what Cranston appears to be going through in that Godzilla trailer, he would know better than anyone the fear that the noise emits from those who hear it.
Filmmakers in the above clip admit that they are paying homage to the original 1954 feature film debut of the “king of the monsters” and doing their best to have fans of the first Godzilla film find their monster’s roar a fitting tribute. And as such, you can see why the film is firmly a part of our must-see summer movies list for 2014.
