Boyhood dreams, a bat made from a tree struck by lightning and most importantly, a never-ending passion for the game drive this tale of an overage baseball player (Roy Hobbs) who comes out of nowhere to become a legendary player with almost divine talent and lead the lowly New York Knights' pursuit of the pennant.
