Can you picture Jaden Smith in a headband and martial arts gear?
Movie fans will soon have a chance to, as Columbia Pictures will produce a follow up to the 1984 hit The Karate Kid. And, yes, it will star Will Smith's son.
The film will be produced by Jerry Weintraub (who launched the original franchise), along with Will Smith himself.
According to Variety, the movie will shoot next year. It will borrow elements from the original plot, which focuses on a bullied youth that learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor. Might Will Smith play that mentor? That would be cool.
Jaden appeared alongside his father in The Pursuit of Happyness.
