Despite a plethora of production problems, including change of directors, a myriad of reshoots, and even a multiple swap-out of music composers, The Wolfman is set to open on February 12th.

A pet project of star Benicio Del Toro, the production was plagued early on when the original director, Mark Romanek, had to be replaced by Jurassic Park 3 director Joe Johnston. Then, just a few months ago, it was announced that Universal had fired the original editor on the film and did extensive recutting and reshoots.

Danny Elfman originally composed a gothic score reminiscent of Wojciech Kilar's work on Bram Stoker's Dracula, but was momentarily replaced by Paul Haslinger because his score didn't fit the tone of the reworked version, then ultimately reinstated. Universal has also been testing two completely different versions of the film to see which works better.
