Paramount Pictures will be moving forward with another installment in the popular Mission: Impossible franchise. Earlier today, it was confirmed that Tom Cruise will be reprising his role as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible IV.
JJ Abrams, whose retooled Star Trek was a huge hit for Paramount, will be producing MI4 through his Bad Robot production company.
"Tom and J.J. are great talents and we are excited to be working with them to re-launch this legendary franchise," said Paramount Pictures Chairman & CEO Brad Grey.
While Abrams directed Mission: Impossible III, to critical and financial success, enough to land his Star Trek gig, it has not been decided who will be directing Mission:Impossible IV just yet.
Paramount has currently set Mission: Impossible IV's release date on Memorial Day weekend, 2011.
