Like any good zombie, the Resident Evil franchise just keeps coming, this time in the form of Resident Evil: Afterlife.
Depending on who you are, that's either a good thing or a bad thing. Many fans of the zombie and post-apocalypse genres love the Resident Evil video games, but have less favorable things to say about the film series. Maybe it's because of the heavy influence director Paul W.S. Anderson had over translating the video game into a big-budget special effects romp, starring his lovely wife Milla Jovovich (lucky bastard!), and the differences that resulted to make the films their own unique vision.
Well, Anderson is back in the saddle for number four of the series, and what's more, he'll be bringing it to us in 3-D. Yes, as the Resident Evil: Afterlife teaser trailer states, the film has been shot with the same cameras James Cameron developed for Avatar! What's also apparent is Paul Anderson's visual style is just as ridiculous and digitally enhanced as it's ever been, perhaps even moreso.
Take a look at the stills below to see some shots of Milla Jovovich as Alice, again, and some stills of the CG tomfoolery Anderson has whipped up this time: Look out! Those computer-generated sunglasses are going to hit you in the face!
