Well, that was fast. Shortly after Edward Norton's Facebook confirmation that he won't be playing The Incredible Hulk in Marvel's upcoming Avengers movie, reports are coming in that celebrated actor Mark Ruffalo is already in negotiations for the part.
As unlikely a choice as Ruffalo, whose latest work in the comedy The Kids Are All Right can currently be seen in theaters, Deadline is reporting that he is currently in late-stage negotiations to play Bruce Banner/Hulk in the ensemble comic book adventure The Avengers. "Like Edward Norton, whom he'd be replacing, Ruffalo would bring real chops to the role. But, unlike Edward Norton, he wouldn't an on-set asshole."
The Avengers has already been set for a May 4, 2012 release date.
