Jackass 3D Sets Box Office Record

If you're curious to know why Johnny Knoxville and his collection of fearless stunt stooges keep busting their heads on camera, all you have to do is look at the box office numbers to understand. Jackass 3-D set an October record this past weekend, earning an estimated $50 million in ticket sales, beating previous title holders Scary Movie 3 and Dreamworks Animations' Shark Tale.

Summit Entertainment's retiree action comedy Red opened strong in second position with $22.5 million, while David Fincher's The Social Network dropped to third place, earning $11 million to boost its total to $63 million. Fourth place belonged to Disney's Secretariat, which won $9.5 million over the weekend, edging out Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel, who ended up fifth with Life as We Know It bringing home $9.2 million.
