Project Greenlight Winner to Direct Piranha 3D Sequel

Dimension can't wait to get a Piranha 3D sequel into theaters, having announced the forthcoming film after Alexandre Aja's update of the Roger Corman classic was released this past August. After the first one took home $65 million at the box office, the studio wants the sequel, the proposed Piranha 3DD (you read that right), ready in time for August 2011.

And who are they bringing on board to get the job done? Deadline is reporting that none other than Project Greenlight winners John Gulager, who directed the film Feast for the television contest, and Saw 3D writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunston, who got their start with Gulager on the show, will be spearheading the sequel.
