Ed Westwick is in! The Gossip Girl star is the latest to sign onto Clint Eastwood's biopic about FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. J.Edgar focuses on the career of the controversial FBI director and his life of scandal as a gay man and rumored secret cross-dresser.
Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Hoover in the film written by Dustin Lance Black, Academy Award winning writer of Milk.
Westwick will play clean-cut FBI Agent Smith, who apparently gets a little too close to the truth while ghost-writing Hoovers memoires.
Charlize Theron was originally rumored to play Hoover's secretary, but New York Magazine has learned that it is not true. The rumors from Theron's rep even went so far that Theron apologized to Eastwood for not taking part in the film, even though she never had any plans to accept.
