There are a few highly anticipated flicks out in theaters this week. Two are out in wide release and one in limited release.
The Green Hornet: The Green Hornet is a big screen adaption of the famous comic book. Seth Rogen stars as the title character, whose real name is Britt Reid. He's a newspaper publisher who inherited the business from his father (Tom Wilkinson). A known playboy, Reid and his sidekick, Kato (Jay Chou) decide to become superheroes and protect LA from criminals. Read Movie Fanatic' review of The Green Hornet.
The Dilemma: Since college, confirmed bachelor Ronny (Vaughn) and happily married Nick (James) have been through thick and thin. Now partners in an auto design firm, the two pals are vying to land a dream project that would launch their company. With Ronny's girlfriend, Beth (Connelly), and Nick's wife, Geneva (Ryder), by their sides, they're unbeatable. But Ronny's world is turned upside down when he inadvertently sees Geneva out with another man and makes it his mission to get answers.
Also in limited release this weekend, the critically acclaimed drama Barney's Version starring Paul Giamatti. That film opens up in the New York and L.A this weekend, but will slowly move to more locations in the coming weeks.
Barney's Version: Based on the novel by Canadian author Mordecai Richler, Barney's Version is an autobiographical account of Barney's life, including three marriages and the mysterious disappearance of his friend Boogie. Barney's Version has received a lot of critical praise, rating 76% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
