Another slow weekend with not too many new films to choose from. But there should be something for almost everyone - a drama and a comedy. I guess you horror, thriller, action, and sci-fi fans will just have to wait.
No Strings Attached: The comedy follows two friends who decide to try out sex without a relationship. Emma (Portman) is a doctor and too busy to have to put time and energy into a relationship. Adam (Kutcher) agrees to have sex with his friend with no strings attached. "No strings" means no jealousy, no expectations, no fighting, no flowers, no baby voices. It means they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever public place they want, as long as they don't fall in love. But things get complicated when love gets in the way of those rules.
The Way Back: A drama about a group of soldiers who escape from a prison in Siberia to find themselves walking 4000 miles through the desert to India. They must stick together and survive brutal circumstances to get to freedom. The film stars Colin Farrell, Ed Harris, Jim Sturgess, and Saoirse Ronan.
The Company Men is also out this weekend in limited release. Continue reading to check out the trailer.
The drama is based on real life events during the financial crisis when a group of men lose their jobs because of the downturn economy and must struggle to live with the consequences of losing their jobs. The film stars Ben Alleck, Maria Bello, Tommy Lee Curtis, Chris Cooper, and Kevin Costner. It's only showing in select theaters this weekend.
If you are looking for action this weekend, you can still catch The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen and Jay Chou. The Dilemma, True Grit, and Black Swan are all also still in theaters.
