Annette Benning and Morgan Freeman have both signed on the Rob Reiner directed drama The Third Act. Voltage Pictures announced it plans on financing and selling the international rights for the drama.
The film tells the story of a former western writer (Freeman) who tries to rediscover his talent in a small rural town. In the process, he helps a young girl find her own inspiration and helps the girl's mother (Bening) find love.
Reiner has worked with both Bening and Freeman in the past. He last worked with Bening in The American President, and with Freeman in The Bucket List.
This is Bening's first film since her Academy Award winning performance in The Kids Are All Right.
The film is scheduled to start filing in May.
