Jeff Bridges Talks Big Lebowski Sequel, Oscar Nomination
by Alyssa Caverley at . CommentsJeff Bridges says he's interested in starring in a sequel to The Big Lebowski. In the film, Bridges plays The Dude, a role that has become a cult figure and made Bridges a very popular.
In a recent interview with Metro, Bridges admits he wouldn't be opposed to making a sequel.
"Oh, absolutely. But I wouldn’t count on that," Bridges told the newspaper. "It doesn’t seem like something the Coen brothers would be interested in, but then again they’re always about surprising us so who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us again.
Bridges recently reteamed with The Coen Brothers, who made The Big Lebowski, for the Academy Award nominated film True Grit. Bridges also received a Oscar nod for his work in the film.
He admits, he doesn't think he's going to get the Oscar for his performance this year, "I think I’m the dark horse this year, I would admit. I think Colin’s (Firth) going away with the golden guy this year."
