20th Century Fox is developing the second installment in the popular Percy Jackson franchise. According to the Los Angeles Times, who spoke with someone who is not authorized to publicly speak about the project, Fox has hired Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski to write the adaptation for the second film.
The film is number 2 in the popular franchise by Rick Riodan and will obviously be titled Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monster just like the second book.
The film doesn't have a director yet, as Christopher Columbus, who directed the first film will be returning to produce, but not direct.
Logan Lerman is expected to return as Percy Jackson and the other leading actors are also expected to return for the next installment.
The first film, The Lightening Thief, enjoyed moderate success domestically, making $95 million in North America, but made a whopping $137 million overseas.
