Planet of the Apes must have been better than they thought. After seeing the film, 20th Century Fox has decided to move up the release date from November to August. It will the last big summer blockbuster for Fox.
The new date will be August 5 and will now be competing with The Change-Up, The Smurfs, and The Darkest Hour.
Rise of the Apes is set in modern day San Francisco and follows a scientist who is trying to research the ape population, but he gets more than he bargains for when the apes turn on him.
The movie stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, and Andy Serkis.
