Mark Wahlberg revealed a huge announcement to Extra on the Oscar red carpet! He stated there have been discussions to make a sequel to The Fighter.
"Now we're gonna talk about doing number two," Wahlberg told Mario Lopez. "We're gonna do the Ward/Gatti trilogy and make it real."
He is referring to the fact that in real life Mickey Ward fought Arturo Gatti in three separate fights starting in 2002.
We're not sure how much truth there was to the claims, but if it is indeed going to happen, it probably won't be for a while. Wahlberg is working on Ted next with Seth MacFarlane and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune with The Fighter director David O. Russell.
