The Cameron-Pace Group announced today at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas that it wants to grow 3D technology. Now it wants to cross all entertainment platforms including features, episodic and live television, sports, advertising, and consumer products.
The company is run by James Cameron and his partner Vince Pace. The duo announced they will offer camera systems, services, and tools to the entire entertainment industry.
“Our goal is to banish all the perceived and actual barriers to entry that are currently holding back producers, studios and networks from embracing their 3D future,” Cameron said at the event. “We are dedicated to building a global brand that is synonymous with high-quality 3D and spans multiple channels, from features to episodic television, and changes the boundaries of what is understood to be 3D material.”
Pace's company PACE developed the Fusion 3D system, along with Cameron, which was used in Avatar.
PACE will be formally rebranded and reinvented under the Cameron-Pace Group banner called CPG.
