In Kung Fu Panda 2, we see the return of of Po (Jack Black) and the Furious Five in an epic adventure of great fighting, friendship, and loyalty. Having mastered the art of Kung Fu, Po must now master the concept of inner peace -- something he doens't understand, but is determined to figure out.
Po and the furious five have been protecting the Valley of Peace and Po has been living it up as the village hero, The Dragon Warrior. But, Po's awesome life takes a turn for the dangerous when the village is threatened by a white Peacock, named Lord Shen, who is determined to destroy China. Lord Shen plans to use an unstoppable weapon that will destroy kung fu.
The warriors must fight king fu to win back kung fu? It's a mind blowing mission, but they will do their best. Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Viper (Luvy Liu), Crane (David Cross), and Mantis (Seth Rogen) all join Po on this latest mission. But Po has another personal mission to take on. He must find out what really happened to him in order to explain the visions he keeps having.
Po isn't exactly serious when he's kicking butt -- delivering some great one-liners along the way, but he can definitely get the job done. And this great sequel has more than just martial arts techniques -- it also has heart. The search for Po's identity bring a complexity to the movie that shows a softer and more serious side to the Panda. And it just makes us love him more.
You can't help but love Jack Black as Po. He provides great comic relief and delivers just the right comment, at just the right time, in just the right way. That's what makes Po and the film so popular and entertaining.
Po definitely isn't the hero type, but he's still just so cool and by far, the most entertaining member of the Furious Five -- although all of them are pretty great!
