The Weinstein Company will distribute the yet-to-be-titled Paul Thomas Anderson film, according to Deadline.
The movie was originally titled The Master and will star Philip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix.
It is apparently loosely based on the life of L. Ron Hubbard and the invention of Scientology. It will star Hoffman as a Hubbard-type character in the 1950s who created a faith-based organization. Phoenix will play Freddie, the left-hand man of Hoffman's character, who helps him create the organization, but starts to question what he created.
Production on the untitled film is set to star next month.
