Even before the fourth installment hits theaters, writers have turned in the next script for another Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
According to a story at The Hollywood Reporter, co-writer Terry Rossio has already turned in the latest script to Disney for a possible fifth movie in the franchise.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is interested in making another film and the studio has approached Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall to do the next film as well.
Johnny Depp, who plays the iconic Captain Jack Sparrow, is not as eager to get right into another installment, although he is open to doing another one.
"It boils down to story, script and filmmaker... It's not something where I would say, 'Let's shoot it next month to get it out by Christmas 2012.'" Depp told THR. "We should hold off for a bit. They should be special, just like they are special to me."
Sounds like the right frame of mind.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides hits theaters in 3D, 2D, and IMAX 3D on May 20.
