Fast Five opened to better-than-anticipated numbers this weekend -- bringing in $83.6 million opening weekend.
It is the biggest movie opening so far in 2011 and set a new April opening record. The film also did much better than 2009's Fast and the Furious and ended up being Universal biggest opening weekend ever.

The other two opening films didn't bring do quite as well. Prom only brought in $5 million, but was estimated to do much better. Hoodwinked Too!: Hood vs. Evil wasn't expected to do as well, but still managed $4.1 million.
