Thor proved the summer blockbuster season is almost here bringing in $66 million in less than 4,000 theaters opening weekend. The adaptation boasts the second biggest opening of the year after last week's Fast Five.
Fast Five came in second this weekend, still doing strong in its second week at the box office, bringing in $32.5 million and grossing almost $140 million domestically.
Jumping the Broom ended up taking that third place spot with $13.7 million, doing much better than originally predicted. Something Borrowed came close with $13.2 million in 900 more theaters than Jumping the Broom.
