Check out the brand new trailer for the upcoming Footloose remake, starring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough.  The plot looks the same, but it seems the dance moves have been updated quite a bit from the original.

Wormald stars as Ren, famously played by Kevin Bacon in the original, the new kid from the big city.  He falls for the preachers daughter, Ariel (Hough) in a small-town where dancing and drinking is forbidden.

Wormald told Movieline in a recent interview that he loves the original.

“I saw it when I was about ten years old,” Wormald says. “I remember being blown away because I was already dancing by the age of six, so I was very inspired and moved by Kevin [Bacon’s] performance. Especially that angry dance, when he’s in the factory going crazy.”

The trailer looks like a lot of fun!  Hopefully this remake can live up to the original - it could be on its way, if this trailer is any indication!
