Comic-Com: Ultimate Spider-Man Fan Andrew Garfield Surprises Audience
by Alyssa Caverley at . CommentsAndrew Garfield appeared in the audience during Friday's The Amazing Spider-Man panel to introduce the people involved, but also gave a touching speech as the ultimate fan himself.
He appeared as a fan dressed in a cheap spider-man costume to interrupt the moderator by attempting to ask a question.
After about a minute in the mask, Garfield revealed himself to huge applause from the audience.
Garfield, at Comic-Con for the first time, could hardly contain his excitement and nervously read from a a piece of paper.
"You have no idea how much this means to me." a truly humbled Garfield explains. "I've always wanted to come here as a fan and this is my first time, so here I am - as a fan!"
He goes on to sentimentally explain what Spider-Man meant to him as a young boy saying, "i needed Spidey in my life when I was a kid. He gave me hope in every comic I read. He was living out mine and every skinny boy's fantasy of being stronger, of being free of the body I was born into, and that swinging sensation of flight."
After huge applause and introducing the panel, including Emma Stone, Garfield exclaimed: "This is the coolest moment of my life!"
You probably made many fans very happy as well, Andrew!
