Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has passed the illustrious $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office this weekend.  The film has earned $233.7 million domestically and $774 million internationally, making its total $1.007 billion.

That also puts it at number 7 on the all-time worldwide list of movie totals.   It is the third Johnny Depp film to gross more than $1 billion.  Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Alice in Wonderland is also on that list. 

It is also Disney's biggest international release ever and the No. 3 film of all time at the international box office.
